It is with a sad heart, we inform you that our dear Villie Mistry passed away this morning – Thursday, May-26 @ 5:30AM.

She was 66 years old and certainly a very loved and respected icon in our community.

Villie was a very loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and a loyal friend to a large number of Zoroastrians and many other communities in Perth. She was loyal and fiercely protective of her loved ones and totally selfless, overlooking her own needs to be there for others she cared for. Fun loving, kind and generous of spirit always, in her hey days she used to cook up a storm and was known for her awesome curry chaval, sali ma murghi and ravo.  She loved meeting up with friends and family and was ever ready to go shopping or out to lunch.

On the ZAWA front, Villie was one of the pioneering members and a valued contributor to the association since its inception. She was the main organiser and in-charge of all the ZAWA Nights from 2001 to 2007. In spite of her failing health this past year, she was one of the prime movers and shakers for the Silver Jubilee event, that is scheduled for August this year and even from her hospital bed, she sent instructions to her team on how things were to be managed. She never complained through her illness and was always ready to help with a smile.

Being a key member of the committee in 2020 & 2021, she retired from her seat due to her growing health concerns. We often caught ourselves saying, that had it not been for Villie, we’d be off like mavericks. It was always Villie – her maturity and commitment that pulled the team together to get the job done. Even when not on the committee, she was often in the background supporting the various community causes and initiatives.

We will all miss Villie.. a strong and vibrant personality, never to be taken lightly.. and never to be forgotten. May her soul rest in eternal peace!

Her funeral prayers would be conducted on Saturday, 28-May at the Purslowe & Chipper Funerals, 103 Norma Road, Myaree, WA-6154
